If the prospect of getting paid to study a CAP childcare diploma in Paris interests you, apply now!
I always wanted to spend some time living in a different country. When my partner was offered a job in France, it gave me the opportunity to learn a new language and experience a different culture. It was the perfect challenge! Find out how I got paid to study, and work here in Paris!
Getting started in Paris
I didn’t have a job when I first arrived- but, within a month, I found Le Répertoire de Gaspard. They offer the chance to earn a wage by learning about, and working with children. They also helped me settle into the new culture and learn French. I was most attracted by the company’s great support system and the friendly and approachable team.
CAP Diploma – Paid to Study?
Along with the babysitting, I completed the CAP petite enfance. The CAP is an early childhood learning diploma with Le Répertoire de Gaspard and the Paris Institute of Childcare Training. I met new people, developed my childcare knowledge, and other skills. If that wasn’t enough, I got paid to study in Paris!
A day in the life of a CAP student
The CAP course includes daily practical sessions on childcare. This includes French lessons as well as numerous other subjects. Additionally, I carried out a 3-week placement in a school where I put all my learning into practice. Because I was a beginner French student, the course focused on basic level French for the first few months. The level progressed drastically throughout the year and I took my exams in June after just 10 months of study.
Finally, I’m working for another year with Le Répertoire de Gaspard as a childcarer and a biology Teacher for the current CAP students! The CAP diploma gives me an advantage for applying for other jobs in the future, because I hope to stay in France.
